Pumpkin Painting Contest- Bring in your already painted pumpkins on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd through the 27th. Pumpkins will be displayed around the Library and will be evaluated by guest judges on Tuesday, Oct. 29th from noon to 1 PM. Age ranges for pumpkin judging and ribbon awards: 0-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-18, and 19 years of age and older. Grand prizes will be awarded to each age group. We urge pumpkin painting contestants to pick up their work after awards are issued.

Toddler Time is back and bigger than ever! Not only can your babies and toddlers enjoy an social learning experience on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM, you have the option for a alternate time on Fridays at 11:00 AM if that will work better with your schedule! Little ones enjoy stories, music, and busy bags to promote early literacy, writing and math skills.

The Needle Night group continues to meet. This is a very informal group and isn’t limited to knitting. “We welcome anyone who crochets, weaves, etc. and set aside every Thursday from 6-8 PM for needlework with all who shows up.”

Adult Trivia Night: the 2000’s– Step back in time to the turn of the millennium for a fun night 2000s-themed trivia Friday, Oct. 25th at 7 PM in the Wayne Auditorium. Please call the library or stop in to register your team of four or five, costumes are definitely encouraged!

Join the Adult Book Club in reading “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah this month. -Author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women’s war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France. “The nightingale” will be available for pickup at WPL, or through OneDrive or Libby in the beginning of October. Join the discussion Tuesday, October 29th at 6:30 PM at the Senior Center.
