Final Clarifier
Final Clarifier
The combined wastewater from the RBC's is once again split between two circular final clarifiers.  The final clarifiers serve the same basic function as the primary clarifiers, in that light solids are allowed to float and heavy solids are allowed to settle.  The main difference is that the solids removed by the final clarifiers are mainly biological solids formed in the RBC units.  Surface skimmings and the bottom sludge are removed and pumped to the aerated sludge lagoon.

Final Discharge Point
The treated wastewater, which overflows from the surface of the final clarifiers, flows through an outfall line to South Logan Creek.  By the time the treatment process is complete, nearly all of the solids and organic materials that were contained in the raw wastewater have been removed.
