Wayne County has been named the second healthiest county in Nebraska from a study conducted by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
In fact, four of the five healthiest counties in the state are in northeast Nebraska. The study looked at a variety of measures in just about every county in the nation that affect health such as the death rate before age 75, high school graduation rates, access to healthier foods, air pollution levels, income, rates of smoking, obesity, and teen births.
