Beginning August 1st, there will be several changes concerning recycling at the Wayne Transfer Station. Plastics and tin cans will no longer be accepted at the transfer station for recycling.
1. Gill Hauling and Waste Connections will begin to offer curbside pickup of those and other recycling materials for their garbage route customers. Contact your provider for more details.
2. The city will continue to accept cardboard, scrap metal and appliances when the transfer station is open.
3. We will continue to accept air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers at the transfer station for $17 each to collect the freon as required by law.
4. The Boy Scouts will continue to operate the paper and aluminum can recycling collections at the transfer station.
