Recycling Materials

Here is a list of all the recycling options in Wayne.

Recyclable plastic containers have a number printed inside a triangle on the bottom of the container. It is imperative that all persons check each container to find this number to determine whether or not it can be recycled, and if so, where to put it. All persons are responsible for sorting their own items into the proper bins. Any person attempting to leave unsorted recycling materials will be charged the appropriate solid waste fee. The following plastics materials are accepted for recycling at the recycling center/transfer station at no cost:

• Corrugated cardboard
• Steel cans
• Aluminum cans
• Number 1, Number 2, Number 3, Number 4, Number 5, and Number 7 Plastics
• Newspapers for Boy Scout Troop Number 174
• Glass

The Recycling Center does not accept Number 6 plastics, styrofoam, or Motor Oil containers. All containers must be rinsed and free of any liquids or food contamination or they will be rejected. Glass should be removed from any other object to which it might be attacked (i.e. window frames, sashes, etc.)

Other large items including, but not limited to, large appliances, furniture, and household items including, but not limited to, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, clothes washers and dryers, furnaces, water heaters, chairs, tables, sofas, beds, bed springs, mattresses, dressers, rugs, water closets, sinks, bathtubs, small motors/engines, minor vehicle parts, lawn mowers and other lawn maintenance equipment, septic tanks, metal or similar material, motorcycles, and bicycles will be $10.00 each minimum

Disposal Rates

Patrons that present weigh tickets will be charged $63/ton. There is a $15 minimum charge on these loads.

Divide 1,000 lbs. by 2,000 - 0.50 tons (one-half ton) .5 * $63.00 = $31.50 dump fee
