Within the operations building are contained many of the vital plant components and control centers. Equipment within the building includes:
- Blowers which provide air for the first stage bio-discs and aerated sludge lagoon
- Sludge pumps to transfer sludge to the lagoon system or tank wagon
- Motor control center which allows the operators to control the operation of various lift station and plant equipment
- SCADA and flow control equipment with an automatic dialer to alert employees at any time of alarm conditions
The monitored conditions that may trigger an alarm include high water levels at the lift stations and sludge-pumping pit and overload on the final clarifiers' sludge collectors.
Also located in the operations building are the plant office, lab facilities, and maintenance shop. Two computers are located in the offices for use by personnel to assist with tracking scheduled maintenance tasks and recording various plant data along with numerous reports. The lab is fully equipped to run tests to assist with day-to-day operations of the plant as well as weekly tests for the regulatory department of the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.
